9 15am prof has just entered. Yawn!!” Subah subah uta diya” is clearly seen in everyone’s face!! 9 20 a guy enters, the all prepared and enthusiasm filled prof smilingly says,”come in” and yet another scape goat enters, searches for the farthest bench from the first and settles down ’now to complete what I left in half, early morning, yawn!! Some sleep’ he mustv thot, since he looked like he had just popped off the bed and landed straight into L5! 9 30 a group called the D gang (since they come from dombivili) stand at the doorway. A slightly irritated prof for being interrupted snorts and lets them in. Pride decorated faces as though telling us, “15 min of escape and yet we get the attendance, smart we!!” Luckily for them, last benches and perfect corner seats ready for them to avoid any words of the prof from entering their ears. The lullaby..errrr lecture resumes. 9 45 two guys enter, though manage a place inside the classroom are forced to take up the first benches cause the professor has had enough. That’s when the 9 46 guy gets unlucky and is not allowed to enter. The insiders think, “Darn, good for him!!”. Now no more looking outside, the temporary entertainment also has been rudely taken away by the prof from us. The first lect ends with great difficulty.
Now to the part of why L5 is so special. Its because:
- There are separate desks and chairs that gives you freedom of doing all “under the table” activities.
- Activities for instance, writing journals and assignments, it teaches you an important concept of speed, distance and time. Wondering how? SPEED, TIME (the lab session is in an hour, she’ll decorate a B++ if you don’t show her the last 3 expts) , DISTANCE (how far is the prof standing from your desk, place a few agents here and there to report you the current location at regular intervals).
- If it’s the lecture just before the lunch break then, smiles!! Its already lunch break for us. Moreover that’s when the canteen walla starts preparing hot items enough to reach the first floor. You realize some one in your row or the one behind has just opened up the tiffin…and ummm guess parathaas. Time to open our tiffins. My group had this thing, there was always one girl whose tiffin was by default opened up before lunch break and finished, mahn how we waited for that!!
- We could increase our gaming skills and creativity. Invent few games underneath and pass our time with a regular nod/smile to make the prof feel at ease.
- The set of last benchers and a few others placed at X X Y positions to provide good entertainment at times when the first benchers cant sustain longer.
- Discuss about yesterday, today and tomorrow.
Though I could come up with only 6 points I am sure one would get 6 more from each of my classmates.
We prayed every semester after that, that we should get the same classroom and were fortunate to have it again once. Even today when I pass by, it reminds me of all those games of bollywood, pictionary, journals, parathaas, cakes, rice etc etc etc. Never forget L5!!
well said...actually ur right...if every1 in our class shares dere own experiences,we cud have a good collection of d time spent in SIES... watever ur piece really bought back some nostalgic moments which is very relevant today as we all have completed our stdies... nice one:)
